At Lychee Legacy, our work begins long before a finished piece reaches a table. In Jingdezhen, our team develops handmade porcelain through a cycle of testing, making, firing, observing, and refining.
A Studio Shaped by Visual Thinking
Our team includes more than 40 young members with backgrounds in art and visual design. That experience influences how we consider proportion, surface, line, and color. It also keeps us attentive to how a piece may feel in a real home, as a gift, or in a hospitality setting.
We see porcelain not only as an object, but as a meeting point between form, color, and everyday use. Each collection begins with a visual direction, then becomes clearer through practical studio work.
Glaze Tests as Part of the Process
Color does not begin with a single decision. Inside our studio, we repeatedly test glaze and color formulas, compare the results, and adjust the direction when needed.
The purpose is not to arrive at one fixed answer immediately. It is to understand how each test changes a surface, how color responds to form, and how those choices work together in a finished piece.
Testing is a practical part of our design process. It helps us move from an initial idea toward a clearer visual language, while leaving room for the small variations that make handmade porcelain feel human.
From Making to Firing
After a direction has been tested, the work continues through making and firing. Each stage gives us another opportunity to look closely at the result. A color may need refinement. A surface may call for another round of testing. A form may need a different balance.
This is why our studio work is built around iteration. We keep learning from the pieces that come out of the kiln and use that knowledge to guide the next round of work.
The process is not always linear, and that is part of its value. Repeated attention helps us make considered decisions without losing the character of handmade work.
Handmade, With Room for Custom Work
Our porcelain is handmade, and we also support custom projects. For a custom request, the same studio habits remain important: clear visual references, careful testing, and thoughtful communication throughout the process.
Whether the project is for a home, a boutique, a hotel, or another professional setting, our aim is to develop a piece that feels considered rather than simply adapted.
Building a Direct Home for Lychee Legacy
For more than three years, Lychee Legacy has served customers in international markets through established e-commerce platforms. During that time, we have built experience bringing Jingdezhen-made porcelain to homes and gift-giving occasions across different markets.
We are now building Lychee Legacy as a direct brand destination. Our website gives us more room to share the thinking behind each collection, develop a closer relationship with retail customers, and support B2B conversations with designers, hotels, boutiques, and other professional partners.
This next stage does not change the studio work at the center of our practice. It gives that work a more complete place to grow: from individual pieces for everyday living to custom and wholesale projects developed in conversation with our clients.
